Being vegan does not mean you have to give up your everyday kitchen essentials– there are a ton of vegan replacements that are just as delicious. Below is a round up of my vegan refrigerated essentials.

Milk, Half and Half, Mayo, Butter –

Being vegan does not mean you have to give up your everyday kitchen essentials– there are a ton of vegan replacements that are just as delicious. Below is a round up of my vegan refrigerated essentials.

Milk

I tend towards almond milk, it’s packed with vitamin A and D, and a good source of vitamin C (look for calcified). Also, random, almond milk bottles tend to be prettier? We make smoothies daily and use almond milk, oj, peanut butter, and frozen fruit.

Favorite Brands: New Barn, Califa Farms

Half and Half

I consider myself a half and half pro– I’ve tested out a ton. Mostly because I’m not a functioning person in the morning without my coffee and cream. Check out my post from earlier this year on one of my favorite half and half brands which includes a quick blurb on why we should avoid dairy.

Favorite Brands: Ripple, Califa Farms

Mayonnaise

Ok embarrassingly, I love Mayo. Fries and mayo… anyone? Gunnar and I are huge noshers. He introduced me to the most delicious snack– cracker, mayo, tomato, basil. It is so simple and tasty.

Also, for days that you need a quick go-to sandwich–for work, a hike, the beach–an easy sandwich is bread, mayo, cucumber, and tomato.

Favorite Brand: Wholefoods

Butter

I love butter and vegan butter is just as tasty. It has the taste of olive oil and salt which is what my body always seems to crave. It’s great for cooking and just as satisfying on toast.

Favorite Brand: Earth Balance
