Valentine's Day Beauty Guide

With Valentine's Day falling on a Tuesday this year (and, if I'm being honest, with a general indifference to this holiday on most years), my husband and I decided that we will celebrate by spending the evening in, eating takeout, and relaxing.

I usually have a little time between the end of my work day and him getting home, so, tonight, in the spirit of love and happiness, I've decided to spend that extra hour with a relaxing Valentine's Day beauty routine (cruelty-free, of course). For all you guys out there choosing slippers over stilettos tonight - the below may be just what you need.

For Your Bath - What better way to detach yourself from the workday than drawing a bath. I absolutely adore the Herbivore Botanicals Coconut Milk Bath Soak to reinvigorate dehydrated skin. To take the experience from bathing in your bathroom to soaking at a spa, we also recommend a sultry candle, this Goop candle is no longer available, but the Goop Winter Edition candle is smokey and sexy, a great find. And, as an ode to Valentine's Day, you gotta throw some flowers in a vase at the edge of your tub, no?

For Your Shower - Since it's Valentine's Day, I'm going to jump in the shower post-bath and treat my hair to a little love with the luxurious Kai Shampoo & Conditioner. On days when I use these together my hair feels so clean without being left stripped or brittle. Next up, the Herbivore Botanicals Coco Rose Body Polish screams Valentine's Day (I mean, it's got Rose in the label). What I love about this scrub is that it sloughs away dead cells, while leaving your skin soft and smelling of roses. While other body scrubs can leave your skin feeling oily, this scrub moisturizes without any residue.

For Your Last Steps - The last piece of tonight's beauty routine comes post-shower. I love to throw on the goop by Juice Beauty Exfoliating Instant Facial for three minutes to quickly brighten my skin and give a radiance boost before seeing my husband at the end of the day (warning: don't leave this on for more than a few minutes if it's your first time using as it can cause redness for some people). While the Instant Facial goes to work, I slather Kai Fragrance Body Butter on my arms and legs. This body butter is quick to absorb, and, as a last step, locks in all that moisture from both the bath and the body scrub.

And, if you're getting crazy this Valentine's Day, you may want to throw on some lip gloss/balm for a kissable pout, my current favorite - Glossier Balm Dotcom.

Happy Valentine's Day, Lovelies!
